From Brokenness to Wholeness: Embracing Healing Through Faith After Abuse
Brokenness is the state of being fractured, damaged, or incomplete! (Cambridge dictionary)
I was shattered by the heartbreak of thinking that abuse was a normal part of life!
I was hurt because no one recognized the good in me!
I felt unfinished because my life seemed unwritten!
I have encountered every type of abuse I am aware of, and I feel confident enough to describe what that experience was like:
Mental abuse - My actions were dictated by individuals who didn't even love themselves.
Emotional abuse -I felt trapped, having been manipulated and gaslighted.
Physical abuse - I became a target for unhealed men's aggression.
Sexual abuse - I was victimized by someone else's unresolved trauma.
Verbal abuse - Every disrespectful word clung to me like Velcro.
Financial abuse - My hard-earned money was taken through deception.
Spiritual abuse - Due to false teachings, I lacked understanding of who I was serving.
Explaining someone else's actions isn't the focus; rather, learning the reasons behind those actions should be guided by and through Jesus!
2 Timothy 2:7(NKJV)- Consider what I say, and may the Lord give you understanding in all things.
"There's a saying that gaining knowledge results in improved actions. To me, this signifies that with the proper guidance and love, which only Jesus offers, accountability, clarity, transformation, understanding, and wholeness become essential to your daily life."
In the Bible, wholeness means completeness, integrity, and harmony within oneself and in relation to God. (Crowd church)
My sense of completeness has always been with Jesus, and my intentional desire with the Holy Spirit helped me realize that!
My value was imparted through the teachings of biblical truths!
Jesus restored everything that kept me tied to brokenness.
Jesus healed my wounds and continues to heal the woman I am becoming.
Abuse transformed into testimony rather than victimization.
I discovered beauty with and through Jesus.
The beauty aspect of this is that God's promises and love will guide us through any storm, provided we persevere during difficult times. As SCRIPTURE in Psalm 147:3 states, He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds, offering complete healing in all things.
